When we lose someone we have loved deeply, we are left with a grief that paralyse us emotionally for some time. People we love become part of us. When they die…a part of us dies too.’

Who are we ?

The Bereavement Support Group’s main aim is be befriending service to individuals in the parish who are grieving. The group will be led by Holy Family parishioners Madeline Warner and Anne Nagorski.

What do we do?

Holy Family Parish wishes to offer support and friendship to individuals who are recently bereaved in our Pastoral Area. However please note that that this is not a professional counselling service.*

When we do meet?

On the first Saturday of each month there will be a meeting in the church at Holy family beginning at 3.00 PM and finishing at approximately 5.00pm. You are then welcome to then stay for the 5.30pm Mass if you wish.

Each meeting will consist of three sessions.

  1. A reflection and prayer session in the church with the lighting of candles to remember our loved ones.
  2. An opportunity to meet and talk with others over some light refreshments.
  3. Lastly a period of group sharing where you can join in the discussion or just choose to listen.

You are invited to stay for all or as many of the three sessions as you wish depending on how you feel on the day. Also please feel free to attend on a regular monthly basis or just come whenever you decide it might be of help to you.
